Review and organize source clips

Import camera videos into a local working queue and review their metadata, duration and recording-time candidates. Select clips, prepare playback copies when required, sort the queue and review the intended sequence before export. MP4, MOV and MTS workflows depend on the installed codecs and the camera file; test representative footage during setup.

Correct camera clocks and display timezones

Enter the original camera start, choose camera and display timezones, interpret UTC metadata where appropriate, and apply a fixed positive or negative correction in seconds. Review the corrected display start and confirm each clip. Camera groups let you apply shared zone and correction settings while retaining each clip’s original start. Daylight-saving choices address ambiguous repeated hours; the entered clock still requires verification.

Create readable date and time stamps

Choose timestamp format, position, size and supported styling for the exported image. Save and apply reusable style presets. Trimming advances the visible clock by the selected source offset so each retained segment keeps its reviewed recording time. Preview styling is approximate; inspect the rendered output before delivery.

Trim clips and select separate segments

Set In and Out points or mark them from playback. Add another segment from a source to retain separate portions and omit an unwanted middle section. Each segment keeps independent review and adjustment settings. Playback controls include speed selection, timeline seeking and approximate frame stepping.

Rotate and adjust the image

Apply additional 90-degree rotation steps, brightness and contrast adjustments to exported videos and stills. Camera orientation is handled before the additional rotation. Review a rendered sample to assess the changes; increasing the output resolution does not create missing source detail.

Apply a static privacy blur

Draw one rectangular blur region per clip, choose its strength and set its time interval or apply it throughout the clip. Enabled blur is rendered into output copies and stills. The region stays fixed in the image; automatic face detection, license-plate detection and motion tracking are not included.

Control selected export metadata

Single and batch MP4 exports strip inherited source tags and can use entered title, description, author, copyright and UTC creation metadata. Blank fields remain omitted; generated codec and container tags may remain. These fields are separate from the visible timestamp. Combined exports omit per-clip edited tags, while separate processing records retain original and edited values.

Save one clip, checked clips or a combined video

Export the current clip, save each checked clip individually, create a combined master, or save individual clips and the combined result together. Ten selected clips can produce ten separate MP4s plus one master. Select a destination folder on the computer. Existing names receive a numbered alternative so earlier files are preserved.

Build a branded surveillance delivery

Combine footage in reviewed recording-time order or queue order. Choose supported output sizes such as 720p and 1080p, with fitting and black padding where needed. Optional agency text, a PNG logo, a three-second case title and two-second surveillance-day separators support presentation. Each clip retains its own reviewed clock; recording gaps are skipped rather than filled.

Create size-limited delivery parts

Set an optional maximum part size to retain the complete master and also generate numbered delivery parts. Parts keep the rendered timestamps and branding. Splitting re-encodes the video and can take additional time; an impractical size cap can fail while leaving the master available.

Capture timestamped or plain still photographs

Capture full-resolution PNG stills from a selected video position with or without a recording timestamp. Rotation, image adjustments and enabled privacy blur apply. Timestamped captures require a confirmed recording start. Capture position and variable frame rates can affect the exact decoded frame.

Save projects and review export history

Save a project to reopen the clip queue, selected segments, reviewed time settings, editing choices and delivery options. Save as new creates a separate project. Export history provides review, downloads and access to the output folder; keep projects, working copies and companion records together when backing up.

Keep originals and processing records

Processing creates output copies and leaves source videos unchanged. All video outputs are silent, and the application checks exported audio absence and file hashes. Optional readable reports, JSON processing records and combined-segment CSV files record source references, corrections, settings and timeline placements. These local records are unsigned and are not independent proof of the camera clock or an immutable evidence record.

Connect to Case Files Professional

Use the agency’s HTTPS installation address and authorize the computer through the agency website. With a compatible server connector, choose an authorized active surveillance case and its subject to populate delivery details. Administrator, manager and investigator access follows server permissions. Current Windows connection storage uses user-scoped protection, and the server revalidates access; sign-out and revocation controls remain available.

Upload a combined master for manager review

Select a finished combined export for the matching connected case and subject, then explicitly upload or resume it. The connector supports combined masters up to 2 GiB, subject to hosting configuration. A local copy remains available. Successful uploads create Draft / pending-release client videos; the case manager reviews and releases them in Case Files Professional. Switching modes does not start an upload.

Choose the included or standalone option

VideoPro is included with Case Files Professional PI case management at no extra cost. Agencies that need only the desktop video workflow can obtain VideoPro as a paid standalone product. Standalone processing saves locally without an agency connection. Ask for current standalone pricing, licensing and deployment details.
